Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY young@part® is the authorized 60-minute edition of the Broadway musical for elementary and middle schools, and youth theatres. The young@part® musicals are carefully crafted through a series of workshops with industry professionals and young performers. Song keys are adjusted where necessary, and songs and scenes are edited for time and content, all while preserving the essence of the original Broadway production.

When are auditions/enrollment?
There are no auditions for the Barn KIDS production of The Addams Family young@part. Open enrollment will take place online on a first-come first-serve basis, with a limit of 35 student-actors. ONLINE ENROLLMENT IS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED TO OPEN AT 12:01AM, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14. Payment is due at the time of enrollment.
Is any experience necessary for my child to participate?
The Addams Family young@part is open to students of all abilities, from those with years on the stage, to those who are trying theatre for the first time. A fundamental component of the Barn KIDS program is bringing students from all levels of experience together so that they may learn from each other as well as staff members. We will work on acting, singing, and dancing skills during rehearsals, as well as learn valuable life skills such as collaboration and respect.
What is the age range accepted?
Students entering 4th through 8th grades in the 2025-26 school year are eligible.
How much is tuition?
There is a $395 per student tuition (plus tax/fees) that helps defray costs for production, royalties, and staffing.
How and when do we pay?
Tuition payment will be due at the time of enrollment, through the same secure system that the Barn Players uses for ticket sales (We use Ludus).
Venmo or check are also possible payment solutions - please contact Vida Bikales at vbikales@aol.com for more information prior to registering
We will be gone on vacation for part of the time. Can my child still participate?
Missing one or two rehearsals is almost an inevitable part of theatre due to illness, family circumstances, and life in general. Missing more than two rehearsals, however, adds extra stress to the actor, and is unfair to other students who are working on the production. If you know that you will be unavailable for a significant portion of the rehearsal window, we ask that you respectfully allow that enrollment slot to be used by another student.
Who should I contact if I have further questions?
If you have questions about enrollment or curriculum, contact camp director Denice Trawicki at denice@thebarnplayers.org. If you have questions about tuition or payment, contact Board President Vida Bikales at vbikales@aol.com
